Globe G-Pass
I bought a Globe G-Passs (or Gpass or G Pass) the other week..
Its a round chip…slightly bigger than a 10 peso coin..
You can buy your Gpass kit at any MRT station that accepts Gpass (wala pa yata sa magallanes at Taft ito)
![]()
> You can buy the Kit at 100.00 (manual, holster, chip)
The sales person will activate your Gpass. Then the sales person will ask for your globe number.. (ok lang kahit wala kang globe.. you can still use it). Paralang kasi masend sayo yung other instructions and welcome ek ek..
Then you can use it na! May 50.00 Free load na yun (akala ko load sa cp.. hindi pala.. load pala sa mrt.. hehehe)
HOW TO USE G-Pass
1. Place the chip on top of the terminal

2. You will hear a beeping sound and see a green light.
3. Enter the station.
4. On your way out, place the chip again on the terminal.
5. Exit the station
Oha…
Other stuff to do:
1. Register your gpass.. Sabi sa manual you can register up to 5 gpass chips sa isang cp #. Why do you need to register it? para you can receive updates and
Comments:
Positive:
1. What i like about it is hindi siya madaling mag expire.. 3 years daw yung expiration ng load! I’m not a frequent MRT rider naman.. so oks lang yun sakin.. na pag sasakay ako ng MRT at nagmamadali.. i dont have to fall in line.. yung mahabang line!
2. You can load it via G-cash!
Negative:
1. Madaling mawala yung chip kasi maliit at manipis. (pano na nga ba ang gagawin pag nawala yun? pwede bang i-disable using the globe phone na pinang register?)
2. Currently, it doesn’t serve all stations. (But it serves the stations na sinasakyan at binababaan ko… hehehehhe)
3. May additional 5% charge everytime gagamitin yung gpass.. Example:yung normal na 10.00 from cubao to santolan magiging 10.50 ang mababawas sa gpass load mo. (OK lang din)
4. May maintaining balance na 16.00. You cant use it pag below 16.00 na yung load mo sa gpass. (hmmmm.. bakit?)
5. Papano pag nagka technical failure? so pipila pa rin?
Round-up:

I was searching for an online help site for my Gpass when I encountered this site. May I add one nuisance with this Gpass, I don’t know what kind of tracking or monitoring system this Gpass has, it made an advance deduction on my balance! For today, Jan 18, it deducted 15.30 for a ride that is supposed to happen tonight! My God! I bought this Gpass because I like to idea of loading more than 100 so I don’t have to fall in line for a SV Card! I don’t mind the 5% additional service charge. But to deduct 15.30 for a ride that isn’t supposed to happen until 10 hours from now? Its like a digital thief in my pocket!
Customer service from Globe is useless! I talked to a certain “Gillian”, he says there are usually errors on Gpass system, and I should try tonight if my balance will be deducted! The fool! Of course it will have a deduction! Kung hindi ka pa nga nakakasakay, binabawasan ka na, lalo na kung sumakay ka talaga!
Well, I have used this Gpass and ok naman sya except sometimes parang ayaw kaagad madetect during entry so I need to tap it repeatedly. So siguro sanayan lang ito. And onetime hindi nadeduct ang stored value when I used it. So me error nga. Madali naman magload via GCash. Overall I like this innovation specially for me na hindi naman madalas magmrt. So hindi na kailangan pa pumila ng mahaba lalo na pag summer na ubod ng init. Bye . . .
Before I got on the MRT at Buendia tonight I bought a load of 100 pesos for my G-Pass. Well guess what, it was not loaded to my card and now I am out 100 pesos. Tomorrow morning when I go back home, I will address the agent about this. Hopefully it will be fixed. If not, well I am sure I will be able to get help from the Globe Customer Service Department.
