We Hold the Future
When i checked my email today.. i saw an email from sir Ses.
It was about a request from a group of high school scholars from Philippine Science High School namely: Paolo Maceren, Felize Mendoza, Brian Espiritu, DJ Ramones, and Benjamin Tuason. They wanted to show their project entitled “We hold the future”.
Their project was an entry to Pisay Meets World. It was a cascade of online student projects that answers the theme, “What can the world expect from the Pisay scholar in the future?” (Pisay i suppose is a coined word from the words Philippine Science High School). This was spearheaded by Martin Perez, their teacher in Social Studies.
Sir Martin, as his students call him, gave his students the chance to voice out their dreams.. a voice which is now being heard as far as the powers of the world wide web can reach.
I was having second thoughts on whether to write about this or not.. you see.. this is just a small dream.. and a common one too. A dream of some young kids which was just perfect to accomplish their project. But then, this came into my mind…. amidst all the problems that our country is experiencing right now (and i’m sure those kids have personal ones too), I admire them for still having this belief.. of wanting to achieve something in the future.. Of wanting to give back for what their country has done for them – education… of wanting to change our country for the better… coz they believe that they hold the future.
So by posting this here in my blog.. i hope these kids would inspire those who will be able to read this.
People might say, “why are you creating a big fuzz about this?”.. well.. If we’ll gonna talk about the video… its a “rough draft”. But what’s making it HUGE is the message that it holds..
I hope these kids would hold on to the burning flame inside of them and conquer every challenge that comes in their way… Sooner or later.. they would not only succeed, but inspire and pass it on to others as well.
I also hope our politicians and wannabe’s would be able to see this..
For my readers.. pass this on… let others be inspired.

it’s a small dream, but with a sincere heart and determination, it could work. these young boys and girls are our future leaders. we have to nurture them.
Thank you very much for this post!
As a teacher, I face the reality that one day, these kids will grow up into ‘reality’. When that day comes they will be forced to make choices that will either take their ideals to new heights, or to compromise them entirely for something more ‘realistic’.
But that is why I teach. That in the hopes that out of my hundreds of students, that if even just one carries on the flame — just one — then that would make all the difference.
Perhaps, one of my goals for the project is give them something to look back to. Something to remind them of their dreams ten years from now.
Yet as the project went on, its purpose evolved into something more: it is a reminder to all of us that there is much hope left in our country because these kids are coming.
As their teacher, it is my job to prepare them for the day they make their fateful choice. And as an idealist myself, I remain optimistic. These kids have made me proud.
Thanks again for the fantastic post! The kids appreciate it beyond measure.
Thanks for passing the flame. These kids need to know and feel our support.
Thank you very much for your time Sir! I really appreciated your effort.

Thank you for your time and thank you for supporting us. I am not one of the students at the video, but they still carry the same message as my project did. Thank you again for helping us spread our message.
