On videos: Split/trim 3gp files

I have 6 media players installed on my PC.

1. Windows media player (version11)
2. Real Player
3. Quicktime
4. DivX player
5. Winamp
6. VLC media player

I often play these types of media files: a. MP3
b. 3gp
c. wmv
d. avi
e. flv (video files i download from youtube)
f. mov
g. mpg/mpeg

Of all the video types, I prefer 3gp videos. I have a 2 3gp converter programs (3gp converter and SUPER © Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Renderer). I like 3gp more for the following reasons:

> the file is small. I save PC hard disk capacity and phone memory.
> I can play it using my nokia 6233

I have been watching videos of movies and tv series on my phone lately. Video quality is ok for me including the audio. But i have one problem… my nokia 6233 does not have fast forward or rewind. That means i have to repeat a less than 2 hour video if ever i stopped watching and i was half way thru it.

This was a BIG problem back then..

I found a solution.. nope.. not fast/forward. But split/trim the video!

After searching the web.. i found a FREE software called Yet another mp4box UI or YAMB.. basically what it does is split and join 3gp and mp4 videos. Its simple and easy to use. The output folder is where the original file.

Before i saw this program.. i have downloaded several other freeware and shareware programs. Yes.. they were able to sp[lit the file… but i cant use them separately. i mean, you have to re-join the files into a Main file for you to be able to watch the videos.. (a typical file splitter). with YAMB, you can view/watch the chunks of videos after splitting the original one.

Now the only problem i have when watching videos using my phone is the battery life! hahahhaha
