Using your mobile phone as modem
One way of maximizing the use of your mobile phone is by using it to connect to the internet!
Some of my readers have been asking me how to do that.
Here is the answer…
1. Connect your PC to your phone.
You can use any of the following to connect your pc to your mobile phone (pair):
a. Infra Red (IR)
b. Bluetooth
c. Data Cable
I suggest you use a data cable… that’s the best option. next is bluetooth. if you don’t have both, use IR (good luck with this).
2. Run an application
A. One of the simplest program to use in connecting your pc to your phone to use the internet is the Nokia PC Suite (coz i’m using a nokia phone).
> Open the PC Suite
> Click “Connect to the internet”.
> Then choose settings
> Choose Nokia 6233 modem on the pull down menu. Click next
> Then select you network operator on the pull donw men. (or click configure manually)
> Then click finish
> Click Connect
B. What if you do not have a nokia PC suite installed?
Well.. i’ve already experienced this. I was using a laptop of my boss and i had to connect to the internet. It didn’t have any nokia pc suite installed so i was left with manually connecting thru bluetooth.
> If you don’t have any bluetooth installed, connect an external bluetooth device for your pc or laptop. hopefully its a generic bluetooth dongle/stick so you won’t worry about the drivers!
> Go to Network connections and create a new dial-up connection via bluetooth. (this is toooo long to write so just ask google how to do this)
> Once you’ve set up the connection, click on connect / double click the dial-up icon.
> leave the username and password blank
> write *99# for the number to “dial”
> Click dial

For Smart network users, you’ll get 3++ kbps connection. That’s P10.00 for 30 minutes of use. Not bad huh?

if may PC suite din ang SE.. just follow yung procedures from your manual.

gusto ko sanang matutu kung paano kumuha nang load sa other phones at gamit mo naman yong cellphone mo.
tsaka meron po bang ibang network n nag ooffer ng cheaper wireless internet connection heavy user po kasi ako pero always on the go…
