The Last Legion

I watched this movie last night thru my nokia 6233. I was only able to download it yesterday from the internet.

I was surprised to know that it has not yet been shown. Its due to be shown this August 24 in the US. Nice.. I was able to watch it in advance.

The plot outline according to IMDB:

As the Roman empire crumbles, young Romulus Augustus flees the city and embarks on a perilous voyage to Britain to track down a legion of supporters.

But the narration during the intro of the movie says that the it was about a legend of a sword, made for Julius Caesar, which he used to conquer lands and rule them. it was passed to the line of the nobles. It said it had magical powers and the one who has this becomes powerful. It was hidden after the death of Tiberius, the last person in the noble line, so that it wont be taken by “evil men” (i think the last Male in the noble line) . It was taken to a safe place and was guarded by Ambrosinus which became the teacher of Romulus Augustus.
Romulus Augustus is the last remaining emperor of Rome. His parents were killed by once allied forces which became their enemies after Romulus’ father (Caesar) declined to give them what they wanted.

When Rome was overtaken by the enemies headed by Lord Odoacer, Romulus  was captured and was brought to a fortress to be detained but there , they found the sword and escaped thru the help of Aurelius, the General who have sworn to protect Romulus with his life. They, and other trusted soldiers went to Britania (i think this is Great Britain now?) to look for their supporters, the last of their legions.

They found them… fought their enemies and won. Romulus threw the sword with all his might and said ” no more blo0od..no more war” and it landed  and sliced halfway into a stone.

I don’t know much of the Roman history.. but the ending of the movie was that Romulus got married and had a son named ARTHUR. Ambrosinus used his real name – MERLIN. The sword turned out to be EXCALIBUR.

I think you know were this leads to.. if not… well.. Arthur became king of Britania… the well known KING ARTHUR and used EXCALIBUR to conquer lands and fight enemies.

The movie has some funny scenes.. which, I think lessen the seriousness of the movie.

I was only after the fight scenes. But I think were not done properly..  i like the neding though.
