Emerging Influential Blogs of 2007

I’ve heard about Janette Toral’s project of finding out the top 10 emerging influential blogs for the year. But I’m only posting about it now coz i saw a post on Sir Sonnie’s blog about it.

This is a nice project. It would enable other readers to check out nominated blogs and maybe they’d be influenced by that blog too.

I checked out the The Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs in 2007 blog page. After reading everything, including some of the comments, I started thinking of which blogs that i have read are new and was able to influence me in any way.

For the blog to be qualified:

These are blogs that started anytime from August 1, 2006 to the present. They are gradually gaining a considerable amount of readership and influence.

I had a hard time thinking. Is it because I’m stuck with old blogs and don’t read new ones? I don’t think so.. old blogs have links to new ones. So i get to read them too. Or maybe because though i read many blogs, most of them haven’t influenced me? Hehehe

So….I scanned my bookmarks for blogs.. I have more than 70 links to different blogs (yes blogs alone). And i told myself that i don’t have the time to check each blog if they were born after August 2006 and I don’t get to check most of the blogs in that list.

So I turned to Google reader to check the blogs that I am subscribed to.. Coz definitely, I’f i’m subscribed to the feeds of that blog, then it should have influenced / continue to influence me (right?).

Next problem is .. how would i know if the blog was started after August 1 last year? That would be easy for blogs which show blog post archived according to date and month. But how about for blogs which presentation are not like that? Yaiks!

Anyways… based from my subscriptions on Google reader, here are my nominees:

> Ang Dabawenyo – for stuff about davao
> The Onlooker – for sports stuff and some general topics too

I got only two.. so far… i’ll add more as soon as I find out how old their blogs are… hahahha
