N95

TV Mobile phone.. choose your model!

I’m  thinking of buying a TV phone… its like n95 (3g, wifi, tv out, yah no…) plus you can watch tv on IT (without the use of your network) plus… you can use 2 networks (that means 2 sims ) at the same time!

price range: 9k to 16K (the higher the price.. the more features it has)

See… WOW right?

=p

Well.. those are the PROS..

now… what are the cons? well.. major negative factor about these phones is that they are CHEAP so don’t expect good quality… and don’t expect any support from teh manufacturer… like the ones we are getting from nokia (firmware updates.. bug fixes.. added features..)

Good luck!

  2. They are really affordable but I will think twice before buying these items. Mahirap na baka the TV phone will only last a month sayang din ang 9thousand. BTW the mobile TV is also not yet commercially available here in the Philippines. Although there are ads na, nasa demo stage palang ang mobile TV. 4. CHINA - always made in china!

In a nation where counterfeiting costs companies worldwide $60 billion a year, according to the U.S. government, selling of such fake merchandise should be discouraged because counterfeiting undercuts honest competition and rewards illegal competitors, and even defraud innocent customers.

  14. i have this mobile fon i got for 9k. and i like it and will boast of it very much. its a mini TV, sometimes when im inside our office, i also pick up cable channels. its also an good player for various files with great speakers. its a camera/video. its an fm radio. i could go on, but what i was really amazed was i could synchronize my phonebook and messages with my laptop. you cant do that with most of the branded ones..
yeah, its from china and i know there’s alwys that possibility thats its not gonna b good in the long run. but then almost all of our things are made from china, what matters is the user. aanhin mo naman ang nokia 90 series, hindi mo naman alam gamitin. as a matter of fact, i know a postpaid subscriber, nasira yung original n70 nokia fon niya after 5 months! see! its all in you hands if you make your money worth it in buying something.
remember: dont overcharge para hindi pumutok. dont throw it or let it fall so it wont break. dont eat it so u wont get stomachache. just be sensible. be pratical, people. whatever u buy, makeit worth your money, not somebody else’s.

  15. I used this fone for a month know made in china. So what do you know who manufactured most of the cellphone in the market know why don’t you go at alibaba.com and see for your self what i’m telling you people. Be practical nokia, ericsson samsung what ever mobile phone in the market 70 - 80 percent of them are made in china. Yung tinatawag nilang OEM brand. China manufacture most of the mobile phone in the market know a days. kung baga ngaya nila ang technologies they are wise diba. kung quality ang hinhanap ninyo sa bilis ng technology ngayon sa tingin ninyo yung piyesa ginagamit sa mga phone na made in china are not that good o pinulot lang sa surplus at ginawang good unit tanung lang?

    Comment by jack | September 26, 2007

  16. Hi Jack,

I agree with you that most of the phone that those big brands was made in china..

BUt the difference between them and the phones stated in my blog is the quality assurance process. With the branded ones (nokia, samsung, motorolla, etc) we are 80-90% sure that we’re buying a good quality product because of the quality check/assurance process that they do.

But i’m sure if those other branded/non branded phones do the same quality assurance procedures that big brands do, then we can be sure that we’re buying cheap and quality products.

  18. For it’s not problem whether it is made in China, Japan or other countries. It depends on how you handle or use it rather. I agree with ijoy_v testimony (its from china and i know there’s always that possibility thats its not gonna b good in the long run. but then almost all of our things are made from china, what matters is the user.) Now-a-days almost all things are China made. It’s reality man!

  45. I have a china phone, its the c2000, I like the it because the screen is the biggest attraction. Not only can it flip up for easier viewing, its also capable of rendering 16 Million colors. Portable analog TV viewing has never looked so good! Its also advertised as having the finest TV tuner. It also has dual cameras.

I’m planning to use it only as a secondary phone because some of its functions are slow.

Of course its display is most delicate when flipped up. This mechanical complication is a feature and thus part of the users responsibility to ensure the phone’s safety in this position. MP3 quality is top notch. MP4 quality is on par with other Chinese phones: at its highest capability is at Xvid encoding and AMR narrow band sound in a 3GP or MP4 container.

I doubt it will have wma or some other codecs capability because they will have to pay microsoft or others for a license.

My only complaint is about the camera which is advertised to be 1.3 MP. The truth is both cameras are 640×480, if you add them together you get half of 1.3 MP. The video recording is 320X240 There are many secret and hidden settings for the camera like velocity and high quality in order to use it properly. You have to explore the phone’s features because the manual it comes with are written in degraded and broken english.

  48. Hi! May kilala ako na may ganyan made in china, buildin talaga ang tv at radio. Laking pasalamat ko na may lumabas na ganyan. Be wise! If you have to buy n95 original for a thousands of pesos, taz gagamitin mo ang tv via network ng mga gahaman sa technology eh… Ok sa communications; txt, call,tv,radio, internet, sync via blu or ir..(.Oh my its perfect! When it comes to that).

  52. Merry Christmas guys.

When I first work on my C2000, the first thing I did was play an mp3 file. Lo! and behold. The mp3 music fidelity is impeccable and pristine. It blew me away to mp3 heaven.

I often wondered why the C2000 has a very good mp3 player inspite of its Chinese origins. It doesn’t have a dedicated mp3 decoding chip just like the latest Nokia solutions, that I’m sure of because it will drive up its production cost considerably. I remember downloading an mp3 media player named AIMP. Its made by a Russian company and its free to download. This media player sounds identical to chinese phones in playing mp3 music. I urge you to try it and be amazed by its fidelity. It really makes sense to employ AIMP mp3 technology on chinese products. *First, not all mp3 decoders are alike and it’s impossible to build a perfect mp3 decoder. The available decoders in the market are pretty good and there is really no need to reinvent the wheel. 2nd, the quality of the AIMP decoder is impeccable and at the same time it uses fewer processor resources. 3rd, if they have to pay for an mp3 decoding license, its more sensible to just pay for the cheaper license.

I’m not sure about the mp3 decoding quality of other chinese phones because I only have the C2000.

You can download AIMP by googling it. I suggest you download version 2 even though its still in beta.

Having a dedicated mp3 decoding chip has its advantages as well. Not only does it sounds better than software only solutions. It eats very little power too, this conserves your battery.

  56. hello all,

i swapped temporarily my N73 Music Edition to my mom who currently has this CHINA tv PHONE. i checked this phone anywhere in the web but i cant get any info… specially a website that renders supports to this kind of phone.

when i explored this china phone that i have now, i was amazed when i knew that it has features FREE of charge compared to other ‘branded’ phones.

    just to stress a point..

    in this phone:

    TV is free!
FM, Video, MP3.. name any features of modern branded phones, this china phone have it all!.

    features like:

    - supports animated (.GIF) walpaper (my N73 cant do this!)
    - supports video tone. (i have heard na sa SMART, kailangan atang bumili ba? or mag subscribe to have this feature..?)
    - picture ng caller.

ung nakita ko lang na CON sa phone na to is:

    walang SENT ITEMS!
    un lang po. :)

on the other hand, im gonna find a way to use the GPRS feature of this phone.

if i successfully configured it, i would be willing to share it with you guys. :)

    lets all be practical!

    ihihihi

    peace. :)

    Comment by lee | January 23, 2008

  64. lee,

It becomes fake/original when the unit tries to imitate the original.

It has the objective of deceiving the user that the unit is the original. According to the rules of business, this is illegal. Lets say you are the owner/manufacturer of a device, and one day your neighbor copies the looks and feel of the device and sells one too. Would you be happy with that?

What they could do is make a “competitor” product.. Something that would not entirely look like the original.

    That’s the point here.

  65. There have been recent studies about the harmful effect of cell phone radiation on the human body. Here is a site which talks about it. http://www.radiationtalk.com

The most recent findings suggests “Cell Phone Use Linked to Decreased Sperm Count and Quality”. If this is really generally harmful may be debatable because our society may need some free benefits to whatever purposes it may be. LOL! To minimize the effects i suggest to keep it as far away from your prized possessions. LOL!

With regard to this, China has surprisingly somewhat higher standards on cell phone radiations, as such china phones have relatively weaker signals or radiation. This might be trivial if you’re living in a city but if your profession crucially depends on it, like your a fisherman at sea, this may be disadvantageous.

    Comment by Jhune | January 23, 2008

  66. Most people are not aware that a cell phone continues to emit radiation even when not active. A safe cell phone is an unpowered one. We are continuously bathe in radiation especially those living near cell phone towers and inside wifi areas.

I read somewhere that China regulates cell phone towers to emit radiation only as half power as regular cell sites. This means that Chinese are generally exposed to one half the regular radiation we are receiving but they have to construct twice as many cell phone towers. I correlate that their cell phones also emits relatively lower radiation. That also explains why china cell phones have some hard time connecting in some areas like in in-between and inside multi-high rise condominiums, traveling at sea, and in remote areas. Certain buildings get around this problem by setting up signal boosters on all the floors.

  73. Agree with most of the opinions posted above… china made phones are not that bad..they are quite unique and u need to be bit cautious while handling it..the greatest setback is that it does nt support any application…so if u are searching for software for china made phone then its waste of time..other set back is that the volume is quite low when u connect it to the ear phone…or else its a nice phone..ratings ***

  139. to all of you who have not yet activated their MMS/GPRS:

Simple lang ang pag-inable ng MMS/GPRS/WAP sa mga China Phones (di gaya ng mga branded). Just follow lang the steps na binagay ng Network nyo tapos sa Phone Model, itype nyo yung phone na pwede sya makarecive ng MMS/GPRS or etc, ex sa SMART: SET MMS N70 and etc, tapos send nyo agad sa network nyo, tapos makakareciv na kayo ng configuration tapos save nyo sya, same goes to the other networks.

after recieving the settings and yan nah…Inable na ang MMS and GPRS and WAP and 3G nyo…cp ko kasi is china phone ZTC s508…

if hindi mainable yung china phone nyo, just text me at this number 09217579062 para matulongan ko kayo ok?.

tama si Xn73_boy, lets be practical..aanhin mo pa ang mahal kung hindi ka marunong magingat?. aanhin mo pa ang 3G inable phone mo kun di mo rin pala yan magagamit?. they say that made in china phones or anything that is made in china is madaling masira, thats a BIG NO to me. coz i have an imitation shoes na NIKE na galing china but until now di pa rin nasira, its been 4 years na until now di pa rin sira, compare to my Branded ADIDAS, 1 year lang sira nah..

it depends lang talaga kung pano gagamitin yan..i vote for china phones although wala pa gaanong softwares nito pero tingnan nyo naman yung user interface nya, very HIGH-TECH na, compare to the BRANDED cellphone (nokia,Ericsson,Samsung). san ka pa naman makakakita ng celphone na TOUCH SCREEN na,may TV at FM pa na di mo na kelangan magconnect ng headset para mainable mo yung FM mo, and yung TOUCH SCREEN makikita mo lang yan sa mga PDA phones and POCKET PC phones…

    kaya lets be practical guys….
