Problem with my Nokia 6233

September 10, 2007
tags: ,

After posting that my 6233 reached its first year… i think its broken!

We went to the beach yesterday.. used my phone as cam (which i always does..) before we left the beach… i tried checking the pics and the videos that we took…

Here’s what happened / is happening:

> i was surprised to see the volume indicator on the scree.. it was moving by itself… from loud to silent..

> i can’t use the number keypad including the star and number sign..

> the zero and # keypad are being keyed automatically..

> the voice command function turns on by itself.

its like the phone has a life of its own.. hahhaha

its not under warranty anymore… so that means i’ll be paying for its repair! yaiks! I hope its not a serious problem. i’ll try re-installing the firmware.. if i can do that by myself… =>

I’m trying to know the cause of the problem…

> moisture from the ocean? (its the 3rd time that ive used my phone at sea!
> got wet?
> a bug on the phone?
> firmware problem?
> maybe the unit has a timer wherein it will show this problem after a year! hhahahah

update : 8:43am

> after reinstalling the firmware.. i think my phone is ok again… still under observation!

Update: 9/11

> last night… phone showed the same problems.. i blowed through the keypad and then it became OK… after 10 mins… it was not ok.. i turned it off the whole night.

Turned it on after lunch… no problems yet… i think need to have my unit repaired!
