Cory Aquino labeled slut at “The Daily Show”

The above pic is a screen shot from a clip labeling Former President Corazon Aquino as a “slut”.

Its from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

In the show, the special assignment reporter examines former women leaders.

“Other countries had girl leaders for years and while Golda Meir may have fended off Egypt, Corazon Aquino faced down dictators, Margaret Thatcher kicked communist’s ass, still they are women,” the woman reporter said.

The segment shows photographs of each leader with a gag line. Meir had “OYI,” Aquino had “Slut,” and Thatcher, “Oops.”

It was not known when the show was aired in US networks.

Pero kung ako ang anak ni Madam Cory, for sure i’ll feel bad. Parang, where did that come from? I haven’t done anything wrong to you for you to label me as a slut.

Slut is a term for a person who is deemed sexually promiscuous. The term has traditionally been applied to women and is often used as an insult or offensive term of disparagement. Slut has also been reclaimed as a slang term in the BDSM, polyamorous and gay and bisexual communities.

Comedy Central apologized Saturday for labeling former President Corazon Aquino a ‘slut’ in the Sept. 18 episode of the US television’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and explained it was just a joke.

GMA News Weekend Report said Steve Albani, vice president for corporate communications of Comedy Central, sent an e-mail explaining that while the comedy show’s format was similar to a newscast, it’s theme was political satire.

“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is a comedy show and the reference to former President Aquino was a joke,” the report said, lifting from Albani’s email.
