Windows Media Player aacPlus plugin

2007 November 20

I’ve posted about how aacPlus (or aac+) can dramatically shrink large music files (mp3 files) and still maintain a good sound quality in one of my previous post (Smaller audio files with almost the same mp3 quality).

Back then you can’t play aacPlus files on windows media player. But now you can, with the help of a plugin!

Orban/Coding Technologies AAC/aacPlus Player PluginTM enables playing AAC/aacPlus® streams and files using Microsoft® Windows Media® Player.

You can use it for Windows Media Player Versions 6.4 / 7.0 / 7.1 / 8.0 / 9.0 / 10.0 / 11.0.

I tried it. It shows info about the file/song that you are playing. => By the way, it will install a shortcut on your desktop

Now you can convert all your MP3 files into aacPlus so that you can save space in you computer. Plus. upload aacPlus files in your phone.. Less space it occupies, the more files you can squeeze in!

Oh.. and the best part is.. its FREE!

Download it here:

Thanks to my blog friend xpressmusic for the tip!

You could also check out other plugins from the official windows media player plugins page.
