Christmas: How much did you spend?

Hi guys! Its Christmas Eve!

Christmas is the time for celebration and of course.. GIFT GIVING!!! We always talk about how much fun it is. But now lets talk about something else, How much have you spent so far or How much did you spend for Christmas?

This includes expenses for Food, Clothing (personal, not for others), Transportation (you tend to use a cab instead of the usual PUVs or you use your vehicle more so increased gasoline expenses), Gift expenses (for all those you’ve given/going to give gifts including that for yourself), Other expenses.

Just an estimate of your expenses.

Here’s mine: Food: P5,000
Clothing: Less than P4,000
Transportation: P1,500
Gifts: P9,000
Others: P600 (for call and text credits)

Total: P20,100

WHOAH! That’s why we have bonuses (and 13th month pays) to spend for the holidays!

Hmmm.. I could have used that money to buy an Asus Eee PC! hahhahaha… well, just goes to show that Christmas is one of the Most Expensive events of the year (aside from Birthdays)..

After posting this, I saw CBCPs Christmas Mesage:

The head of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Sunday asked Filipinos to remember the true spirit of Christmas and not be absorbed by material gifts during the holiday celebration.

Archbishop Angel Lagdameo, president of CBCP from Jaro, Iloilo, said Christmas is celebrated precisely to remind us how God loves mankind that “He had given us His only Son.”

“The true meaning of Christmas is for us to remember that we have one God who became like us to share with us our tears and laughter and to join us in our work and struggles in life,” Lagdameo said in his message aired over Church-run Radyo Veritas.

The CBCP head also asked the faithful to thank God for another wonderful year that was “filled with both good and bad memories.” – ABS-CBN News
