Solar Entertainment Pulls out of SkyCable

solar.jpgIf you are a SkyCable subscriber and your wondering why your favorite programs are no longer found on their their usual channel, its because they have already been pulled out!

  • ETC
  • 2nd Avenue
  • Basketball TV
  • Solar Sports
  • Crime/Suspense
  • Jack TV

Those programs are being broadcasted by Solar Entertainment. And it has been reported that SkyCable owners had a rift with Solar Entertainment.

Sky have replaced these programs with new ones: Velvet, Balls, and Maxxx, Fox Crime, AXN Beyond, Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney, and Kids Co.

So where do you watch these programs now? Solar Entertainment had formed a partnership with local TV channels to have their programs broadcasted.

ETC can be seen on SBN and 2nd Avenue on RJTV (still on a test broadcast). They have also partnered with ABC5.

Check SkyCable’s new channel line-up here. Would there be a SkyCable subscribers pull-out too? Pull-out live NBA games in a country were basketball is the number one sport?

Other cable operators offering solarprograms as Global Destiny and CableLink.

“Unlike before, companies like Destiny can’t air NBA games except in the high-end feature of their cable subscriptions dahil nga the exclusivity covers that of regular cable.

With Solar Sports no longer bound to SkyCable, Turcuato says, other cable affiliates, beginning next year, can start carrying NBA games on regular cable.” – Manila Bulletin

Solar Entertainment also bagged the rights to broadcast the2008 Olympic Games.

Looks like we’ll be using more of the “not so watched” channels from now on. :D
