Mobile Video Avatars from Smart
Smart has launched a new mobile Video/Voice Call service.
You can now choose to use of Video Avatars for video calls. So instead of seeing the face of the person, you’ll just see a character (avatar) plus a recorded message.
Video Avatar is a new P2P 3G video messaging service that combines lip-syncing fun avatars and a 30 second recorded message to create an expressive and memorable video message
Here are some avatars that you can use:
How much?
- Video Avatar call - P5.00
- Help texts - P2.50
- Video retrieval - 1st is free, succeeding P2.50
- Personalized avatars - P15.00

This is a cool service.. But i doubt if people will actually use this.
Thanks for this post MiGs. I heard this service had launched, but a simple search of SMART’s website revealed nothing. You may have the only pointer in the world to this otherwise “secret” page on Smart’s website.
How did you hear about it? Has it been promoted anywhere? Can you comment on your last statement, i.e. it’s a cool service but you doubt if anyone will use it??

I don’t think mobile phone users will avail of this service regularly, maybe during special occasions like birthdays and vlentine’s day. But for normal days, why spend for it when calling or texting is cheaper.
