Mobile phone security – Phone Secure (Deactivated)

2008 January 15

Smart HAD a tool and service that aids its users in keeping their mobile phones secured.

Its called  Phone Secure.

If you lose your celfone for whatever reason, SMART will help you do something about it via Phone Secure. It is the revolutionary celfone software that assists you in retrieving data stored in your lost handset.

Phone Secure locks your phone by using a password of your choice. Once activated and your handset is forcibly used by someone else, Phone Secure will prompt your handset to emit an alarm before disabling all its functions and shutting down.

It WAS also coupled with the service of backing up your mobile phone’s entries and restoring them in the event that you can’t recover your lost/stolen phone.

Other features of the Phone Secure are:

○ Remote Trigerring
- Your lost / missing handset may be locked by sending the password to the handset’s mobile number.

○ Idle Time Locking
- Unlocking the handset after idle time requires the user to enter the password.

○ On-Guard Filtering
- Filters unwanted messages or calls.

HOWEVER… Phone Secure service has been deactivated and is no longer working.

Smart alreay discontinued the tool/service.. I learned this after i sent an email-inquiry to smart’s customer service.

I dunno why… hmmm.. I think its a good tool/service. Maybe they had privacy issues or the cost for the service exceeds the actual income. Or maybe their working on a better tool/service.

Oh well, i hope they’d get this out of their website. They’re still showing it as one of their services. Confuses users/subscribers.

Wait, what happened to Smart Phone Guard?
