There are a bunch of Applications that is pre-installed on your N95 which makes your N95 experience even better than any other phone. They squeezed in almost every basic need.

n95 tools

One of the best pre-installed programs that i use in the N95 is the WLAN Wizard. It locates the wireless / Wi-FI spots. Its like a metal detector! hahhahah.. I use it to check if an area has wi-fi access and if its free. and if it is, i bring out my laptop and browse away!

Every phone needs a File Manager. The N95 has one.. a basic one. There are third party applications that has more features. But this one does the job.

The N95 has a built in Web Browser with Mini map. That’s why i didn’t install Opera Mini anymore. The built in browser is better!

The N95 also has an easy-to-use e-mail client with attachment support for images, videos, music and documents. I’ll make a comparison between Gmail and the Nokia built in email client on another post.

Other tools are located on the CONNECTIVITY FOLDER.

n95 connectivity

This is where you turn on the Infrared and change settings for USB, PTT, and Connections.

You can also find here the Home Media Settings which makes it easy for users to set-up the shared services of your phone or access shared services from other devices.

I was surprised to see settings for MODEM. Now Nokia has made it easier for people to set-up their phone as modem.

You can also set-up a wireless keyboard to access your N95.

Another place where you can get more applications is the UTILITIES FOLDER.

n95 utilities

This is where you assign contacts for your speed dial keys and set-up the voice command.

TIP: When using the voice command, change the command/word into a unique word for your phone to easily recognize the command. Example, instead of Bluetooth why not put BRAVO TANGO. This will be clearly understood by the phone.

Find a Data transfer application for transfer of information from other compatible Nokia devices such as calendars, contacts, etc.

The N95 also tells you if you have a running application. You’ll see a blue icon that looks like a capital C on the upper right corner of the application icon.
