Yummy: Windows Bento
2008 April 12
Windows Bento…
Its not a new OS of windows. Its a windows inspired Bento.
Bento is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento consists of rice, fish or meat, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables as a side dish – wikipedia
Anyone want’s to try a bento with Bill Gates on it?

hmm may i know how is it done ?? the window xp meal..
To Elaine, who wants to know how the windows xp bento is made. I know the comment is old but if you still would like to know, I have made one and I’ll post basic instructions below. If you need more specifc instructions, just ask and I’ll elaborate
However English is not may first language so please bare with me, I hope that I can help!
In order to make the bottom of a small laptop you would need 2 sheets of nori (seaweed) and some rice.
1. Prepare and cook the rice then leave to cool
2. When cooled place a thin layer of rice in the center of the nori sheet and leave a bit of space around the edge of the nori.
3. Place a second sheet of nori over the one with rice over it
4. Wet your fingertips and run them along the edges of the nori and fold them over (the water will make them stick together!)
To make the top of the laptop repeat the steps above then cut out a square from the center to make the “screen” part.
The “mouse” is made from half a boiled egg with a nori strip to decorate.
As for the other decorations, you can use anything of the apropriate colour or you can use food colouring. Eg. shaped cheese of tofu for the keys, shaped fruit or vegetables for the windows logo, shaped nori for the writting… Just have fun.
