Firefox is gearing up for the release of Firefox 3.

And while doing so.. they also want to set a Guiness World record of the most downloaded software in just 24 hours! And so they’re having an event called Firefox 3 download day!

I’ve heard a lot of rumors about this transport payment system via SMS but i think it will soon become a reality.

You see a Taxi company in Abu Dhabi is gearing up to implement what it calls Q-Cash system where a taxi passenger will have the option to pay for his/her ride by sending an SMS message.

The system will avoid complaints that taxi drivers do not return loose change to passengers.

Hey, the Philippines is the SMS capital of the world.. why aren’t we implementing this first? Maybe no taxi company here would like to do away with the forced tips that they drivers collect from the passengers. But this can be implemented in Davao City where cab drivers are honest and kind.

Yes, a mobile phone will be launched soon packed with an 8 megapixels camera.

Its called C280. But don’t be confused.. its not a Sonny Ericsson phone.

Its from K-Touch in China ( Yes, its a china phone =p )

It may not have a Carl Ziess Tessar lens, but this baby will be using a Digic III image processor from Canon. Nice Huh? I just don’t know if it has a powerful flash.

So if your planning to buy a camera, well, i guess this one is a good buy.. a camera with mobile phone functionalities.

After lunch today, i noticed that my officemates in Davao City (I’m up here in the mountains right now) we’re not online one their Instant Messengers.

I called up our IT guy there and he said there was no internet connection. After an hour he texted me to say that he called up PLDT and they said that their having a service outage and its VisMin wide.

YAIKS!

So i searched for the news and found one at Inquirer.net.

So, there’s really a service outage and those affected are Mobile and Internet subscribers of PLDT and Smart. The cause… breaks in their fiber optic cable.

PLDT said that its fixed line and data services and the mobile services of Smart Communications, including the fixed wireless service Smart Bro was “temporarily disrupted” due to the digital fiber cable breaks.

You’ll now be able to watch your favorite Basketball teams from the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) via Solar Sports!

This is after solar sports got the nod of the PBA management to be its exclusive broadcaster of PBA games for a whopppppping P508 million contract.

For those who have been watching teh PBA games in ABC 5, you’ll now have to switch channels for the PBA games will now be seen on Channel 9 and Basketball TV.
