Nokia Charging stations

2008 May 13

Low on batteries?

You can now go inside some establishments to recharge your mobile phone’s batteries.. for FREE.

Via several Nokia Charging Stations.

See a list of Nokia Charging stations after the break.

There are quite a lot charging stations. Unfortunately, they’re all concentrated in the Metro Manila area. Hopefully they’d expand to provinces and other locations like Davao City.

For updates on the list of charging stations, check here.

Actually, these Nokia charging stations have been around for quite a while now. When I visited Manila in September 2007, I stopped by the Nokia Store in MOA (was there from 10:00 am to 6 pm) and saw these charging stations. So, it’s not really big news.

What concerns me, though, is that apparently you just leave your phone on the stand, connect it to the charger, and leave it there. Like, what if someone else takes your, say, N95 8GB? There’s no identification system that I know of. Clarifications, kuya Migs?

Yeah, good point. But wouldn’t it suck to be sitting mindlessly in a starkly blue Nokia Store for thirty minutes waiting for your phone to charge? lol

    Wahahahah.. uu nga.

But thats the price you have to pay for having to charge your phone for FREE. :D

Pero pwede din naman nila i-enhance yan. Like instead of sa labas/sa dining area, baka pwedeng sa loob ng office ng extablishment. tapos pwedeng iwan. with a receipt or something.

    Diba?

This is very sensible indeed. I believe these free charging services are for emergency and mission critical use only. In these situations your are forced to wait on your phone anyway.
