Most Nokia phones are now made in China

Majority of the Nokia phones that I’ve seen or used are made in China…

Why? Hmmmm.. That’s easy to answer.. Low cost of production.

The N95 and N78 that I reviewed are both Made in China – even if they came all the way from London. My Nokia N82 is also made in China. I went to some stores selling Nokia phones and checked where it was manufactured and all 6 phones – yes all – are made from china.

Is this a cause of alarm for consumers? Or is it something to be happy about?

Why be alarmed? Fake mobile phones are mostly (if not all) manufactured from China. And now it’s commonly known as China phones.

So the question, are we sure that we’re getting the real Nokia Phone? =p And also, how is the quality compared to those made in other countries?

I posted an article about knowing where your nokia mobile phone is made. It says there that if your phone is manufactured in Germany, its of good quality. If it was assembled in Azerbaijan then it has very Bad quality and also dangerous for your health. Now it says there “original factory which is the best Mobile Quality”. Hmmm.. i wonder where is the original factory.. Maybe its in CHINA!

Now why should we be happy about it being made in China?

Well, if the production cost is lower and higher production output – more units, then Nokia MAY – I repeat.. MAY – lower down the selling price of their units. And i think that’s what they are doing right now. Their phones are cheaper nowadays than last year or two years ago. Compare the price of a Newly released mobile phone 2 years ago and today. isn’t it much cheaper? It will rarely hit the 30k price tag.

So, is it the QUALITY or the PRICE?

Well, maybe we’re having both.. Maybe because nokia is a big company and they don’t want to sacrifice their name for low quality results, they’ve put a high level of quality control for their products. Well, if i was the head of the Company, that’s what i would do… I can’t afford to loose the market for giving out cheap and low quality products right? I can sell it cheap.. but the quality should be, at least within the standards.

For those of you who will be buying a new phone, is it OK if its made from China? Or for those who have already bought a new phone, is it made from China? If its not, I’m sure you’ve gotten it higher than the normal price. If it is… are you happy with it?

If you’ll ask me… I’ve been having some problems with my N82. Its getting slow and sometimes it freezes when i receive a text messages that it vibrates non-stop and keeps on buzzzing… What I do is i’ll turn it off and on. maybe its because of the firmware. But… then again.. its made in China! Maybe i was given this unit. hahahahha

But I haven’t brought it yet to a Nokia Service center.. I don’t have a spare phone yet. =p

man if they would be cheap then why did i buy the n96 for 800$ thats totally unfair for me to buy it in that price and its made in china and when i bought it it had to many problems and i have exchanged it with the e90 and its made in finlad and i felt comfortable in gaining it more than having a phone that is made in china

I was on Ebay looking at an N95 with the battery cover removed. On the inner label it read “Made in Finland”. I quickly popped open my N76 and its label read “Made in China”. Alarmed, I did a quick google and arrived at this site. I agree with the first poster. Although Ive had no problems with my N76, I have less confidence in a China made Nokia. I have visions of sweat shops with poor quality control. Ill be sure to always buy Finland made Nokias.

you should know that all “made in china” nokia phones are fake
the chinese copy the hardware and software of the phones but the quality is rubbish

to prove this you can find n95 nokia phones with touchscreen as well but these are only “made in china” because they are fake copies with touchscreen added
