Yahoo Messenger 9.0 released

The long beta stage is over… Yahoo has officially released Yahoo Messenger 9.0! It comes with the following features:

- Pingbox™: Introducing Yahoo! Messenger Pingbox, 

- New skins: Three new skins (Silver, Ruby Red, Mystic Black) bring the total count to twelve.

- Return of the (original) emoticons

- Ignore list enhancements:  The “ignore anyone not on my Messenger List” option won’t affect messages when you’re in a chat room, but it continues to apply to IMs.

Here are the other Yahoo! Messenger 9.0 features that was also present during the beta:

- Inline video & picture viewer 

- New emoticons                    

- Import Contacts wizard

- Yahoo! Updates

- Call forwarding & new voicemail delivery

- Yahoo! Games are back

- Changes to the look and feel: reworked the status message menu - making it easier to share custom messages and web links and  added two views for your contact list – detailed (larger display images, full status with updates) or compact (smaller images, one-line name and status).
