For those who just bought a new smart sim and wants to send MMS or use GPRS or video call via 3G, you’ll first need to activate you MMS/GPRS/MMS settings.
The usual way of doing this is to send a text message containing specific activation message to a specific 4 digit number or by calling the customer service hotline of Smart . But not every one knows how to activate it thru text and you’d have to wait for a minimum of 10 mins on the line before you could to to a Customer service agent.
But not anymore.. coz now, there’s Smart SIM Connect. It’s part of the new services by Smart called Smart connect.

Big names in the Mobile and Tech world have joine forces and created the Symbian Foundation where symbian shall now be the main platform for mobile phones and applications.
Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and NTT DOCOMO, AT&T, LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments, Vodafone, Digia, EA Mobile, Freescale, Fujistu, Orange, Plusmo, Ericsson, T-Mobile.

This became a reality after Nokia bought Symbian and turned over the software to the foundation and formed an alliance with the above industry playeers
Hmmmm… is this because of Google’s android? But whatever its hidden purpose maybe, i say this is a good step on having just a single software where we can all use.

I received this message last night:
From: +639267195384
V-Pres. Foundation…
Congratulations! Ur sim# is 1′of our lucky winer 2day had WON! Php550,000) DTI PERMIT#0475> 4more Info. Pls.Call Now. \I’m Sec.Cesar B. Lim.
Obviously its a scam. Coz i haven’t joined any contest. Plus, look at the grammar and the use of punctuation marks. And if that was true, that Sec. Cesar B. Lim should be ashamed of himself. Even if he was not the one who sent the message, his name was on it.
If i remember it right, i already received a message from this scammers before. I even called them just for the sake of fun. They said they were a government agency. Then they’ll ask you to send them call and text load. And mind you, a lot of people got scammed.

I was browsing smart’s wap site when i saw this message:
It says it is “Free to browse here. Click here to learn more“.
Well i thought that it was free to browse using smart. but it turns out that the FREE to browse thingie was only for their wap site. Well, i already know that.
I feel i got fooled. But maybe it was me not clearly understanding what the message was.
What do you think?
